Americans will try almost anything to lose weight and look better. We purchase endless amounts of junk advertised on infomercials. Americans purchase pills, drinks, powders and memberships, year after year with minimal results.
Everyone you talk to has an "I used to be able to....." story. You probably have one, too. What did YOU used to be able to do? What did YOU used to look like back in the day? What would people NOT guess, if they looked at you now?
With CrossFit, we CAN once again do what we used to do.
People who come to us have usually heard about Crossfit, but don't really know what it is, or what it can do for them. People come to us and want to know, "So, what is this CrossFit stuff? Is it really different?"
The short answer is - Yes. And to really understand the difference, there's nothing we can TELL you. There's only way to really get it. You must WALK IN THE DOOR!! There is no way to just tell you in a few words what it is. Because it's not a theory. It's not a program. It's not a technique. And it's definitely not a "routine" you follow.
What it IS - is an EXPERIENCE.
Crossfit provides measurable results, fast and effective workouts, varied and high intensity exercises, and virtually guaranteed plateau-busting workouts.

Because Crossfit Training involves some specific training movements and requires specific skills to get full benefit from the program, we require all participants to meet with a trainer one-on-one to review the Foundations Elements and prepare you for success in the class setting.
We will cover basic movements, history and philosophy of Crossfit, technique, nutrition, and the ten recognized general physical skills that make a strong and fit body: cardiovascular / respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.
You'll leave with a sound understanding of what Crossfit is, and why it's so effective. Yes, there will be a workout included, and after completion of the Foundations requirement, you will be eligible to participatein Unlimited Classes at the SWAT Fitness South Tucson facility - just 20 minutes from nearly any point in town.... really!!! We've timed it!

In Crossfit, exercise technique is important for ensuring that you experience improved strength, flexibility, and performance beyond any level which you have experienced in the past.
That's why we require new participants to complete a Foundations Session prior to participation in group classes. It's so that you have all the basics needed to perform successfully in the group workout of the day, which we call the MOD (SWAT Mission of the Day)
The required Foundations Session introduces you to Crossfit so you can see what it's all about and if it's for you, and will focus on teaching you the principles of fitness foundations: Cardiovascular and Respiratory endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy. You will learn fundamentals movements of Olympic lifting, kettlebells, and general Crossfit methods.

One on One Foundations can be scheduled at your convenience, and is included with your
Enrollment Fee when you sign up with us!
The Foundations requirement focuses on teaching the basics and fundamentals of Crossfit Training, including Olympic lifting, skills progressions, and a Crossfit MOD (Mission of the Day). When you have satisfied the Foundations requirement you will be prepared for SWAT's Crossfit classes, kettlebells classes, and/or boot camp fitness classes at the Crossfit Tucson facility.
